The process of earning this credential involves satisfying PMI®'s eligibility criterion and passing a exam. The PMI-ACP® certification from PMI® carries a high level of professional standing and credibility as it requires a combination of agile education, experience on Agile practices and examination on Agile practices.

The use of agile as an approach to managing projects has been  increasing dramatically over the last several years. Gartner predicts that by the end of 2013, agile development methods will be used on 80% of projects. PMI’s research has shown that the use of agile has tripled.

Furthermore, research demonstrates the value that agile can have in decreasing product defects, improving team productivity, and increasing delivery of business value. 
This course is designed to help you prepare for the new PMI-ACP® Agile Certified Practitioner exam—and gain the most understanding. 
This workshop imparts skills required to manage software development projects at a rapid pace. It helps in completing project in time, within budget & meeting the stakeholders expectations based on Agile methodology. Upon successful completion, the participants will earn 21 educational credits/PDUs from PMI,USA.

Pre-plan from your side: 
• Become a PMI® Member by paying the membership fee to PMI® as early as possible. 
• Document Your Project Experience. The PMI-ACP® exam requires 2000 hours of project experience, and an additional 1500 hours of agile project experience obtained within the last 3 years. As part of preparing for the examination, it is useful to create a timeline and list of projects that will comprise this experience report in preparation for submitting your application to PMI®
Submit Your Application to PMI® to Take the Exam. By the time you complete course, you will be eager to take the exam as soon as possible. Although not required, we strongly suggest that you complete (or at least begin) your online application to take the exam before you take this course. The best way to prepare and submit your application is to do so online by going to the PMI® website. Then, when you have completed studying after the course, you will be ready to pass the exam. Remember that you can begin your application now and finish it later!

DOMAINS AND TASKS

Domain I. Agile Principles and Mindset (9 tasks) 
Explore, embrace, and apply agile principles and mindset within the context of the project 
team and organization.

Domain II. Value-Driven Delivery (4 sub-domains, 14 tasks) 
Deliver valuable results by producing high-value increments for review, early and often, based on stakeholder priorities. Have the stakeholders provide feedback on these increments, and use this feedback to prioritize and improve future increments.

Domain III. Stakeholder Engagement (3 sub-domains, 9 tasks) 
Engage current and future interested parties by building a trusting environment that aligns their needs and expectations and balances their requests with an understanding of the cost/effort involved. Promote participation and collaboration throughout the project life cycle and provide the tools for effective and informed decision making.

Domain IV. Team Performance (3 sub-domains, 9 tasks) 
Create an environment of trust, learning, collaboration, and conflict resolution that promotes team self-organization, enhances relationships among team members, and cultivates a culture of high performance.

Domain V. Adaptive Planning (3 sub-domains, 10 tasks) 
Produce and maintain an evolving plan, from initiation to closure, based on goals, values, risks, constraints, stakeholder feedback, and review findings.

Domain VI. Problem Detection and Resolution (5 tasks) 
Continuously identify problems, impediments, and risks; prioritize and resolve in a timely manner; monitor and communicate the problem resolution status; and implement process improvements to prevent them from occurring again.

Domain VII. Continuous Improvement (Product, Process, People) (6 tasks) Continuously improve the quality, effectiveness, and value of the product, the process, and the team.

PMI® Agile Certification Eligibility Requirements

  1. 2,000 hours working on project teams: These hours must be earned within the last 5 years; General Project Experience; Active PMP® or PgMP® will satisfy this requirement
  2. Agile Project Experience: 1500 hours working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies; These hours are in addition to the 2,000 hours required in “general project experience”; These hours must be earned within the last 3 years
  3. Training in Agile Practices: 21 contact hours; Hours must be earned in agile practices
  4. Examination: Tests knowledge of agile fundamentals
